Trust & Safety
Updated April 26th, 2023
Lox Club is a members club for people with ridiculously high standards — but did you know that extends to our safety standards, too?
While creating a space for dating to become way less cringey, behind the scenes, we also developed a platform that takes the necessary safety measures to keep the community safe.
We equip our community with multiple checkpoints to support our effort in maintaining its safety and integrity:
Application Process
Lox Club takes preventive measures from day one by means of our application process. This allows us to safeguard our service as we vet every applicant.
Identity Verification
Following acceptance, Lox Club requires each applicant to verify their identity before gaining access to the platform. It’s important that users are who they say they are.
Safety Features
We’ve developed advanced safety tools available to all members to use if they feel someone has violated our guidelines or terms in any capacity.
At the bottom of every profile in the ‘Members’ tab, you can find ‘Remove’ and ‘Report’ tools:
‘Remove Member’ permanently pulls a member out of your queue to ensure they won’t see you moving forward and vice versa. The reason for removal that you select will be kept confidential and sent to our Trust & Safety team for review.
‘Report Member' allows you to file a report, if you suspect a user’s profile presence infringes on our guidelines or Terms and Conditions, enabling us to investigate the case and take further action if necessary. All reports are sent directly to our Trust & Safety team, handled with privacy and care, and taken very seriously.
At the top right corner of every match and conversation in the ‘Chat’ tab, tapping the three horizontal dots reveals ‘Unmatch’ and ‘Report’ tools:
‘Unmatch User’ removes the member and conversation from your “Chat” tab.
Here are a few safety tips from our Trust & Safety team:
We want you to find love and support on our platform, but get to know someone before you meet them in person. Take your time. Look for red flags. And be cautious of communicating with a stranger who eagerly wants to meet with you.
If you choose to meet up in person with another user who you met on our platform, tell a family member or friend where you will be meeting and when you will return. Meet for the first time in a public place -- not your home, their home, or any other private location. Always provide your own transportation to and from your date.
Anyone who is able to commit identity theft can also falsify a dating profile. Never send money or share financial information with people you do not know. Be cautious about sharing your personal information (including phone number, address, job details, etc) with matches unless you feel 100% confident that you can trust the person you are chatting with.
Never share personal information, such as your home address, phone number, or any other identifying information, with people you do not know. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information or attempts in any way to coerce you into revealing such information.
Trust your gut.
If something seems suspicious, you’re probably right. If anyone is making you feel uncomfortable, use our unmatch and report features to alert us. If you’ve already unmatched them or deleted the app, you can contact us via email at hey@loxclubapp.com.
Our Trust and Safety team will review each case and will take appropriate action. Each report is kept completely anonymous, so a reported user will not know who flagged their account or any details about you.
